Creating Affordable Housing From the Ground Up: Pound Ridge, NY
Scotts Ridge is a 12 unit affordable senior housing residence in the Town of Pound Ridge near the shopping district of Scotts Corners.
On about three acres, there are two buildings with two floors in each building. Each unit contains a bedroom, bathroom and living room space. Within the living area, there is space for a small sink and refrigerator. There are three such units per floor; the three units share a large country kitchen with full kitchen facilities, a living room and laundry facilities. On the main floors there are large porches accessible from the kitchens. Each building’s entrance faces each other with an area for garden and walkways. Each building has an elevator making each of the 12 units handicapped accessible.
